This is coming late....Through the month of September Ava's class learned about various famous artists. They got to try different art projects mimicking the artists. My favorite is the self portrait. We got to go after school to the gallery. Ava was very proud of her work.

Those are darling, I love the self portrait, I really wanted her to draw arms coming directly out of her cute little head! Is she past that stage? I love watching how they decide to draw certain features.
I have to say that the self-portrait looks a lot like a jack-o-lantern! I get why she would choose orange skin and yellow hair, but I'm not sure about the yellow mouth.
Oh my gosh! I thought the self portrait was a jack-o-lantern! If Jen would not have said something I would never have known what the self portrait was LOL. And I thought of the cat voice when I saw her too. What a cutie.

Unfortunately she is past drawing arms and legs directly out of the body! It does make me a little sad! I am sure she was not happy about the orange as at home she likes skin color! And yes, she does call it skin color!!!!
