Trip to Bear Lake

Well it is par for the course that I am a complete slacker! We have been pretty busy since school has let out. What has become our yearly highlight, is our 2nd annual trip to Bear Lake. We stayed in Logan this year to save a few bucks. It was really nice. The girls loved main street, and it was fun to stop at places in Logan canyon on the way to the lake.

Ava found a solution to not getting car sick....

The lake was super high this year, so there were only two beaches, one on the north end and one on the south. You had to get there early enough in the day or they would turn you away. There were maybe 50 parking spots at best! The water was not as blue and clear, and the beach was a bit muddy at the edge, but the girls still had a great time playing.

We did break down and rent a boat for a few hours on Saturday. Unfortunately the only time that they had left was from 9-11am. Up there that put us at 64 degrees. But the girls had the time of their lives, even scardy cat Ash!

The girls each got to take a turn driving all on their own. That is the plus side of going so early on that we only saw two other boats in the entire two hours!
Then we drove to Randolph, where there is "the smallest gift shop" It literally looks to be about the size of a port o potty. Of course it was closed, so we went next door to a little Gifts of the West shop. Because what is a vacation without a souvenir!

Here a few pics of Ava's latest dance solo. She won 3rd Attendant I don't have video yet because I used my VHS recorder, and I need to buy the converter to make it a DVD. I think Ava did great, she has practiced hard and I am always amazed that she is brave enough to go out there all by herself! Thanks to Chrystal for all of her patience! And thanks to everyone who was able to come out and support her!

I want to first thank everyone so far who has helped us out with flat Ava. When I first got the instructions home from school, I will admit that I was a bit more that irritated. But thanks to all of you, it has been really fun for me, and even more fun for Ava. Here are just a few of the things that flat Ava has done..

First she went to Buffalo NY where she played the game of 'Trouble' with cousin Liv and Uncle Nate... of course Uncle Nate won!

Flat Ava helped cousin Liv take care of her tortoise George, he loves to eat red leaf lettuce.

Flat Ava came to work with Aunt Angie at the Doctors office one day and just had to have a check up. We checked her ears and her heart and reminded Flat Ava to eat healthy foods and get some exercise everyday!

Next she went to sunny Florida to vist Grandma Kayt and Grandpa Mike. They sent the pics to school, they did a lot of fun stuff on the beach

Flat Ava went hiking with Jen and shady up Baer Canyon and she also got a hug fom Bode and Jen's work

Then she was off to ride Jake at Rock E with Dee!

She then took a flight to Phoenix.....who knew they let Beavers on the plane?!

Always check your feet for TP after leaving the bathroom, how embarrassing!

And now......we're not sure where she's at! Thanks again, and if you see this girl, please send her along with a pic or two! How nice would it be if we could all travel through the mail for a couple of bucks!

The Valentines Box

Ok, honestly this post is for Angela. She had the awkward pleasure of talking with me on the phone while I was at Michael's Craft Store. We got the dreaded flier that kids get to make their Valentines boxes at home.....what?! So I have the wishful thinking that I am going to walk into the craft store, and they are going to have "basically made" boxes. NO! I was so wrong! I wandered aimlessly and frustrated through the store, getting hostile towards poor Ang. I bought a bunch of random stuff finally, I was not happy with anything that I got. Well I have to say....BOO YAH, I rocked this box! So here it is, I'm not going to lie that I am pretty impressed with myself (and Ava's help).

Dancing Fool

Almost one year after Ava's dance solo, I get a random email that this is my last chance to purchase action pics that were taken at the competition. Not the greatest ever pictures, but they were only $4 for a 5x7, and I did not yet have my new amazing camera yet. So I thought, why not?

This year Ava signed up for a cheer babes class and tumbling. The cheer class was small from the get go, but after only three months, Ava is the last "man" standing. Everyone has dropped the class, and her teacher is sweet enough to continue teaching Ava solo lessons for the same price. So here we are getting ready for our next solo. It still amazes me that this little gal is willing to get up there all by herself and shake her thing in front of so many people!She will be performing on Friday, April 29th at Roy High School. I will not have a time until about one or two weeks before, but anyone is welcome to come. For those of you who can't, I will be posting my own fab pics and a video.

What we've been up to...

Ok, we all know that I've been back on line for a while, and yet I continue to slack. So here is a random post of some of the things that we have been doing for the last little bit. We went over to the school to play in the snow. The first obsession was to clear all the snow off of the ice under the playground.

The "best method" was to lick a small amount of snow, melt it in your mouth, spit it out, and then rub the spit into the snow on the ground. Needless to say that got tiring and they were running out of spit. So we moved on to bigger and better things. There is a small hill on one side of the field that was great butt sledding.

Yes Ashlyn is bawling. She spent the entire time crying because she was scared and the other girls wouldn't go down with her. When I gave them the "5 more times each" warning, she continued to cry. The best part was, that she was going so slow, that she had to use her feet to scoot forward! On her very last slide down she realized it was fun and then cried because it was time to leave. Sometimes you can't win!

On another day.....

They dressed in anything black that I owned, we made cup phones, and the played "Charlies Angels".

And we had a sleepover with Ava's friend Kambria. I bribed them to go to sleep by telling them I would take them swimming tomorrow...Well, I had to deliver. We picked up Kambria's little sister Averi and headed to Clearfield Aquatic.

And now I must go and and get the girls ready to go to horse riding lessons with our very own Denise!

So the saga begins....
Katie has inspired us to ride our bikes! After watching her video...and the fact that I ran over one of the training wheels of Ava's bike when I was backing our of the garage...we decided that we were ready to try.

We went one Sunday after we got Ava from Eric, she was very nervous and Brian and I were both wearing flip flops which are less than ideal to run behind holding onto a bike! So we went the following Sunday and she did short bouts, but unfortunately no camera.

So, I promised her we would go after school the next day, her birthday, but being the great mom that I am..I had scheduled her a dentist appointment. After the dentist we took her to Olive Garden for her birthday dinner where she thoroughly enjoyed her spaghetti.

First I was feeling like our waiter was a loser and as much I kept telling him and then hinting to him that we needed to have people sing to her, I thought that he was never going to do it. But, he totally pulled through and not only did they sing, but he made her a wiener dog balloon! He got a good tip.

After dinner we went to a church parking lot and finally took video of riding our bike! Luckily it was only raining a little, not that the rain was going to stop her from getting her film debut anyways. And with the rain there was a huge rainbow that Ava thought was pretty cool.

The saga continues...
So naturally you can't have one bike and three kids. So we went to good old Wal Mart and got two new bikes. Here are two of the three proud owners and their bikes (because Ash could not hold still for a pic).

We went back to the parking lot and we learned how to ride! Here are the new bike riders! Thanks for paving the way Katie!

We did some smore making in our back yard. The girls have been wanting to go camping (minus Ash) but since we don't have a tent or sleeping bags, we figured this would be a good first step.

As mom already posted, we went to South Ogden Days. It's always so much more expensive than you planned! Next year wrist bands for sure!

After Grace and Ava went on their first four or five rides, we were afraid that this was the only "ride" Ash would be going on. So we thought we had better document it.

But once the girls started doing the smaller rides, Ash decided (with much coercing!) to give the kiddie rides a try.....then she didn't want to stop. Although you wouldn't know it by her facial expressions, does this look like a kid whose having a good time?

Other random things that have been going on....
The girls were all dressed up for a birthday party that Ava went to so I got some cute pics of them.

Connie continues to drag in the dead. Don't let her innocent look fool you!

She likes to find th dead baby moles. She also brought in the lower Half of a huge rat! The full rat was probably just about as big as she was! That one I could not bring myself to take a picture of, I was more concerned with freaking out at Brian to get it out! For the next week we wouldn't let Connie lick any of us because she had "rat butt mouth".

We have been trying to sell Brian's Range Rover. So we've been cleaning it up. Every time that we do clean up, we are surrounded by wasps. Brian has sprayed all over Rover, but they keep coming back! Last weekend Brian was working on it while the girls were in it playing road trip. Suddenly they are pointing out of the drivers side window to a huge wasp nest in the tree directly over Rover! How we missed this I do not know!

And here is Connie doing wipies after a bath. I know that Denise will especially appreciate this!

Just some random happenings from the last little while......

Here is a little something that the cat, er....little dog dragged in! Sorry to say Jen, I think your coon hound has got a little competition here! (And I do mean little!)

I'm not sure if Ash is going to be able to get any more conditioner out of this bottle, but she is going to keep on working on it!

The girls were enjoying bathing a poor tied down Peanut, however, I'm not sure that Peanut was enjoying the girls or the bath! You can be the judge.

Ava and Grace taught Ash how to not be scared on the trampoline anymore. So now we have a fun, free, and somewhat dangerous new past time. Sprinklers and trampolines!

One day, two ceremonies, and two happy graduates! Graces graduation was much more of the two teachers giving themselves pats on the back, which was unfortunate. They did sing three songs and then they got their diplomas. Ava's class sang a bunch of songs and each had a speaking part. I am amazed at how many of the kids still talk baby talk!!! Yikes! All in all they were both really cute! I was thrilled with the cap and gowns at Ava's, I didn't know about them til I got there. They even did the tassel switch! I was hoping for a hat throw....but it didn't happen. Here are the two grads with their teachers.

Her next competition is on May 2nd at Roy High School. both of her dances will be in the morning. Her first dance is about 9:20 and the second about 11:20. She also has a dance recital where she will do the same dances at Weber State University on May 22nd in the evening. One more upcoming event is her Kindergarten graduation at Uintah Elementary on May 27th at 5:30.

This first dance is their jazz dance. They won second place. The second dance is their lyrical, which they also won second place. I had a really bad angle on the second dance and Ava is behind one of the other girls. Her next competition is May 2nd, so hopefully I can get a better shot.

I got the name Connnie Francis because my boss Tom has been playing his Ipod at work for our overhead music. It is a very random selection to say the least! One of the songs that played one day (pre Connie) was "Where the Boys Are" by Connie Francis. I liked the song and asked Danielle who was sitting next to me singing along who it was. You would have to know Danielle to know that she is hilarious and she turns to me and says in her "Nacho Libre" voice this is Connie Francis. Then when I started looking at dogs, it just seemed to fit!

Connie is too tiny to be bothered with! Connie and Peanut are getting along much better, Peanut is no longer scared....although sometimes a little irritated! One of Connies favorite places is on Peanuts back!

I have been looking at Papillons for a little bit, and found this little girl on ksl. Brian and I went to look at her on Thursday night, and I fell in love with her at first sight! Brian just suprised me me with her at work tonight ten minutes before I was leaving! As you can see Connie would already like the good stuff.....Doritos!

She has some baby toys as she is only 10 weeks old, but who am I kidding, she will always be a baby! We met both of her parents, they were both four pounds each!

Miss Cleopatra - Queen of the Nile

Well I have to say that this costume kicked some major butt! Grace is the corpse bride and Ash is tinker bell. We had some rain on Halloween night, but nothing too bad, and it did not seem to deter the kids at all! Luckily Jen knew where to go for the good candy! It has been a real struggle for me to keep my greedy paws out of Ava's candy!

As you can see from the picture on the right, Ash has two black things in her hands. These would be the dreaded scorpion and spider that MOTHER gave them and it was all over her face and hands...which meant that it was all over my hands!! What a mess, but she was soooo pleased! She would not give them up for anything. They fell on the ground a few times and on the sidewalk, none of these were deterrents for getting back into her mouth or her bag.

This is coming late....Through the month of September Ava's class learned about various famous artists. They got to try different art projects mimicking the artists. My favorite is the self portrait. We got to go after school to the gallery. Ava was very proud of her work.

We went hiking around pine view last week. The funnest part was that it is apparently bee mating season and Brian was the only one getting swarmed! It was hilarious to say the least! Some of my favorite one liners were: "Bee's 4 Brian 36, and I'm still living" "Ow! That hurt (as he smacked his own leg with a stick) but I got one" "I'm gonna kick your @#*!" "You want a piece of me?" These clips are just a small taste of what he was doing the entire time we were at the lake! Unfortunately I cannot claim that no animals were hurt or killed in these filmings........sorry PETA!

Aside from the bees, Ava found several lady bug
"friends". If you look really close there are two of them.

The girls decided to go for a little swim. What started out as getting their feet wet, quickly became them waist deep in the water.

Nut as usual decided to make a filthy pig of herself! I swear she does it to me on purpose!

All in all it was a really pretty fall day.....but not for the bees!

Antelope Island

We decided to buy the girls all "adventure shoes" (not so cute tennis shoes) at payless and took the girls for an adventure. It was fun, they had a blast climbing all of the rocks with minimal whining. Brain tried to teach the girls how to skip rocks.Ava was in much more of a posing mood today
We even saw some buffalo on the way out.

If you couldn't guess from the title, I am talking about work! To sum up what has kept me from blogging....I have been on the job hunt. Mikey decided to cut my hours down to 30 hours a week, because he is broke! I had two bounced paychecks and a week where I got paid a week late. After he cut my hours, I told him that I would be looking for a new job. The next day he gave me a dollar raise, go figure! We then have been having more wonderful dinner workshops! Well at the last one, I managed to lose my keys. Fact: I do not own a spare key. Fact: Once you have a new key made, your car will still not start without the keyless entry to turn off your car alarm that p.s. does not go off when window is broken. So after searching for my keys for 30 minutes, we proceeded to try to break into my car. I have to say that watching Mikey try to use a hanger to unlock my doors was one of the best things I have ever witnessed! I wish that I could have videoed it! Instead I was at least able to take a picture of the crack that I somehow managed to shove my entire arm through...past the elbow!I don't think after seeing this, that it is hard to see that my arm was stuck! The next day I did have a nice bruise on my forearm and above my elow. These however did not picture well.
Moral of the story.... do not lose your keys at a dinner workshop 1) You are stuck with Mikey for an extra hour 2) You are willing to do impossible things to try to escape 3) He will threaten to make you pay to replace the work locks as your work key is on your key chain!

Return of the King

I know, I have been majorly slacking! However, I am hoping that this super post will begin to redeem me! So I will begin with Ava's B-day. We went to Classic Skating, I am always amazed at how many people do not RSVP to a party! Anyhow, I pretty much chose Classis Skating for myself!Mom also got in on the action!No I am NOT too big! It was pretty fun, of course there are always a few whiners at every party...Fact: Jennifer IS crying after hurting herself. Fact: I am faster than Jennifer (as she is the black bear and I am the brown bear) Fact: One of the little girls that came likes for me to hold her, she is the same way everyday that I drop off Ava to school. She wanted me to hold her the entire party, after about 15-20 minutes I told her that I could not carry her and hold her anymore. At this point she started to limp and cry. So I took her to her mother. Her mother immediately started freaking and got her an ice pack (even after I explained the situation). She then proceeded to keep her home from school the following Monday and took her to the doctor. There was no bruising or swelling and there was no x-ray done, but since she was still limping her mother was pretty sure that she had a bone fracture or a really bad sprain. Whatever!

Note that Ava was refusing to look at the camera for ANY pictures!

So....I began to get crafty and found other things to take pictures of, I thought that this womans dress was stunning!
Note the blonde woman to the left. At first I tried to be stealthy and pretended to take a picture of Brian....Then I got more bold.

What you can't tell from this picture is that the back is about five inches shorter than the front. She is also wearing green eye shadow, lovely gold shows, and festive jewelry to match. I couldn' t help but tell her how much I loved her outfit, I believe that my exact words to her were "to die for". She was thrilled!

Other Random News

To start off with, I am aware that I have been slacking, nothing like my sister Jo, yet still slacking. I have been in Purgatory! Yes, it is dinner workshop time at work again. During dinner workshop time I get to work 12-13 hour days with no overtime! Isn't that illegal you ask, well yes it is! To make it even better, our first workshop was last Thursday, Thursday happens to be payday as well, we got done with the dinner workshop (where keep in mind, us employees do not get to eat dinner) and he informs us that we will not be getting our paychecks today, because there is not enough money in the account! I did not get paid until the following Tuesday, but since we had a dinner workshop that night as well, I did not get to deposit my paycheck because I worked from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm. Mikey is a real gem! On the third workshop night he yelled at me for not bringing the extension cord, which we did not use the previous two dinners - at the same restaurant, so he told me I was irresponsible. I asked him what he would like me to do - as the cord was not imperative to operation, and he told me that he hoped I learned from my mistakes, I could have cost him the entire workshop with my negligence! Aren't you all jealous of my boss!

The first day off after all of this I got to take poor tiny to a random pediatrician for her kindergarten shots which I was told that she didn't need this year, as she is going to private kindergarten early, only to learn one week before school that she does need them. Since everyone is getting theirs at the last minute, and also football physicals....I took the only office that could get her in. To my pleasant surprise, the doctor was great with her and I will choose her in the future. To my bad, I had to make a deal with Ava that if she was brave, I would be brave. She chose to make me hold the snake at Eric's clinic. Have I mentioned I hate snakes!This is the closest I came to actually "holding" the snake. I swear to you I was nauseous and my eyes were tearing up! There may or may not have been a puddle of pee at my feet, you'll never know! Luckily it sufficed Ava! To show me up she put the snake in her basket and tried to skate it around the clinic until Eric put a stop to her fun!

The highlights of that day at the clinic did come in the form of puppies that were just a few hours old. They do make you want one for just a second!

We took the girls to Eric's clinic to "help" out. He brought Naughtia to shave, Ava was the only one brave enough to get up there with her.
Even though I severely dislike the cat, it was sad to see her under with a gas mask on!

Grace and Ash also wanted nothing to do with the snakes, I can't say that I blame them there!!!

Neighborhood Luau

We went to Brian's moms neighborhood luau with the girls. I want to zurchers and got them some Hawaiian gear. They were quite pleased with themselves, and all of the attention that they were getting. As soon as we got there, someone asked them if they would get up on the table and dance.These two "very shy" girls jumped at the chance, and after a bunch of random people took pictures of them, I asked it they wanted to get down and get some dinner, and of course Ava politely responded "No thanks, we'll stay up here!" Sometimes she is so humble I wonder if she is Nate's daughter!

This wonderful video ends in a bit of a fight. But, at least I was smart enough to end it before you hear me getting sarcastic and saying "Oh, that's fun! Keep fighting everyone wants to watch you fight!" Although I guess it doesn't matter since I just tattled on myself.

The Zoo

I am a little behind on posting, but we took the girls to the Hogle Zoo last week. What a treat! I 0have come to the conclusion that the zoo is home to every rude idiot, and or mutant in Utah or visiting! Unfortunately we did not see any polygamists, this was a first from my previous zoo visits!
First of all let me just take the chance of sounding like Craiger for a moment, and say that taking five people anywhere is too expensive! By the time you pay for admission, the train, the new carousel, and of course rent a wagon, you are into the day over $60. I also forgot to mention that they did get a McDonald's happy meal on the way to the zoo. So the great part about all of this, is that when you tell them that getting to come was the fun thing that we got to do today, they through a diva size fit that it's not going to be a toy buying day!

This is the new carousel ride. New excitement to the Hogle Zoo never stops!
The only animal excitement that we did get to witness was at the giraffes. P.S. for those of you who recall the handicap giraffe, he is no longer there! There is no mention of his whereabouts, long live handirafee if he is not already dead! But, as we stood in front of the giraffes for a couple of minutes, one walked all of the way across the pen to pee directly in front of us! I have never smelt anything quite like it, and I hope to never get that close of a shot again!

We did try to put the kids to work at one point and make them pull their own wagon.....it lasted for less than three feet. We decided that from now on they are big enough to walk or they are not big enough to go. The harsh reality of becoming a big kid!

The Job

Well just a positive update on my job.....We had a conference call with a doctor in Seattle that mentors clinics, since he has the biggest clinic like ours in the US. So Mikey was asking him how you close the people that say that they don't have the money right now. The Dr told him some really good advice. Mikey said, "so you don't ever tell them that if they don't sign up today, that they can't come back?" I have never met this other doctor, and I don't know what he looks like, but by the tone of his voice (the what the #$@% voice!) I can see his face in my mind as he said NNNNOOOO! Mikey replied "Really?" and he was genuinely baffled! So he asked again and got the dame response. He then asked again and the Dr told him "why would you ruin a future possibility?" and Mikey just said "Huh." I wanted to smack him! I really had to fight the urge to ask the doctor "So, do you ever tell people that don't sign up that they deserve their pain? Cause we do that a lot!"
Then, today, I almost got fired! One of the other girls did not make the reminder calls last night. he thought that it was my responsibility and screamed at me. Luckily one of the other girls told him that it wasn't on me, it was the other girl and she had reminded her to make the calls before she left for the night. So then he almost fired her. He then took us all into the exam room and screamed at us for a good 20 minutes! After that no one could do anything right in the day so he continued to be a complete ass (sorry, but that is the most appropriate word I could think of) for the rest of the day! He told us that he has no problem firing someone just to make a point. We had a client not show up at 3:00, so I called to see if they were coming, he said that his father-in-law had come in the week before and was treated very badly by the doctor and he wouldn't be coming in. Mikey was furious and yelled "I have never been rude to anyone!" It took everything in me not to pee my pants laughing right in his face! All I can say is that he is a great business man!~

Welcome and Not so Welcome Additions

Well you are looking at it! I finally got a washer and dryer! And the best part is....they were free! Brian's brother is lending them to me, yeah! It is beyond nice not to have to haul my laundry to and from the laundromat anymore!

Ava has also discovered a friend in our back yard. Bethany goes to her school, but she is in a different class. She lives in our complex. They have been outside every night for the last five nights! I now know how Angie felt when they lived in Clearfield next to Alyssa! Yeah! She is a very polite and sweet girl, but the best part is that I'm not having to entertain them!!!!!

And then there is one not so welcome addition! This came by way of the mail, from my "good" sister Jen..... The inside says "Hang loose and "Hoff" a nice day!" It is sick and perverted and I needed there to be documentation of this!

Our ghetto style trampoline

This is how we do things ghetto style! We laid down the boards and cut some metal strips and screwed them over the trampoline. We also had to put some cinder block stepping stones and some flat rocks under some of the corners. We also hammered down some six foot poles to help it from sliding when they jumped. It is still a little crooked! Oh well. Go ahead and post these on how not to set up a trampoline safely!

Something Exciting!

Well I do have an exciting story that I forgot to share! I woke up to get ready the other morning and opened my closet door and my room started filling up with a really nasty smell. I didn't know what the smell was, but I knew it wasn't good. I sniffed around and couldn't figure out what it was, so I unplugged everything and left for work...as I was late as usual. When I got home that night it still stunk and was a little more potent. So when Brian came over I asked him if he knew what it was. He sniffed around and decied it was coming from teh water heater (you know the really creepy one in my bedroom closet! Those of you who have been to my apartment know what I'm talking about!). So he unscrewed teh fromt panel and much to our suprise it had been on fire inside. It had burned so much inside of itself that it had melted the wires in half! So, nothing makes you feel safer than ghetto water heaters! The good news is they came out the next day and replaced it while I was at work, this does make the closet a little bit less creepy, not much!

Well, I'm sorry I have been slacking! Nothing too exciting is going on. Brian and I set up the trampoline that I bought, what two years ago?, for the girls. His plan is to have someone come and dig it into the ground. For now we were going to just level off the ground, but when that was too much work for two shovels......we gave up and Mguivered it. I do not have pics yet, but I will take some this weekend and post them. You could label them on a trampoline sight as "how not to set up a trampoline". Ava and Grace are complete maniacs on it, Ash is scared. They will spend hours out there. The great part about the enclosure is, you can zip it and leave them in there for a bit, not that I would ever do that!
We were jumping the other day and I was bouncing the girls, I bounced Grace so good that it thrilled her and made her nervous at the same time, and she peed her pants! Which of course her and Ava thought was hilarious. She didn't want to stop jumping because she didn't think that it was "that much peeps!"
Work is work. It was Dr. Mikey's b-day the other day so of course we had to make a big deal out of it. He was actually nice about it the first part of the day. But of course as the day went on he went back to his regular sunshine self. We had two clients that came in that day that were going to pay, and we have to notify him as soon as they do. Client A is a woman and client B is a man, both of which he has just met with the day before and today. So the womans check was for 7,000 and the man was paying a deposit of 500. He changed the name of his practice over a year ago, but never filed it with the state. So the bank will not allow us to deposit checks in the new name, duh! Well client B got a certified check for $500 and made it out to the new name. When one of the office girls went back to tell him that both had paid but client b made the check out wrong, he flipped out and called a "meeting". So we all had to go into the exam room where he reemed us out for 10 minutes. He asked who had let the patient make out the check wrong and one of the girls began to answer and stuttered, he cut her off and started fake stuttering back to her! He then told us that "he didn't need this kind of stress on his birthday!" Ummm, milking it a little? Once he settled down for two seconds and he figured out that the check was for the smaller amount, he reemed us again for him being confused about which check it was, because he doesn't care about the smaller check! Just a fun insight into some of the daily joy I get at my job!

Fourth of July

Nothing much going on with me or the diva. Still trying to figure out how to do these posts. Ang is supposedly going to give me instructions on how to post Ava's last dance recital....we'll see if I'm smart enough. Other than that I figured I would try to post some fourth of July pics. We were pretty casual. Of course no matter how many sparklers you buy, it's never enough! Ashlyn was to scared to do the sparklers which pleased Gracve and Ava to have more. Other than that they did a little swimming in the little pool.
Ava was being a little hose hog and squirting the other girls. She was trying to pretend that it was a fun game, but I'm pretty sure she was the only one liking it! She kept luring them in saying that she wouldn't spray them, and then she would. I guess if they keep going back for more.....

So that was our forth in a nutshell. Sorry, I'm not too great at adding the pics yet. I'm trying!

Life at my new job

Well to give you something interesting to read about, I will let you in on my new job. I am the office manager for a spinal decompression clinic. The doctor, "Dr.", is a real gem. Most days start with a really nice pep talk where he asks us for our positive energy and concludes with him telling us that we can either go to the top with him, or we'll be fired! This is just a sample of his wonderful attitude!
Now this story may sound like fiction, but believe me it's as real as it gets! I was in the room with him, a coworker and a patient and his wife for a report of findings. In this appointment he discusses with the patient his diagnosis as well as the length and cost of the treatment. This particular patient (who happened to be a one armed man) did not like the price and told the doctor that it was a rip off and that he was like a used car salesman. The Dr. got irate! Both "mature" men started yelling at each other, with the patient making threats and the Dr. telling the patient "you deserve your pain!" As they continued to fight, the patient asked the Dr. if he wanted to take this outside and pushed him (remember he only had one arm!). So I got to call the police and write up mine and the doctors statements!
It doesn't end there! The following day the patients wife called the office and said that she needed to pick up their x-ray and MRI. I told her that there was no way that he would allow them to come into the office, but perhaps I could meet her in the parking lot. I then had the pleasure of calling the Dr. on his cell phone (he was at lunch) and told him they were coming to pick up their things. He yelled at me on the phone and then hung up on me! Then when he got back to the office and proceeded to rip my butt off, telling me I had no right to say they could pick up their stuff. I told him he had no right to keep it!
He later could down, but he still likes to make comments about how he could have kicked his ass! Blah blah blah! He thinks he is so cool because he can come up with a bunch of one arm derogatory comments.
So it is fun working with the other girls because we all make fun of him behind his back! He likes to think that he is into "The Secret" and all of this positive energy stuff, yet he is the most negative person I have ever met! And by the way.....you're fired!
